Found on the Net: Cthulhu Chick

By Silvia Moreno-Garcia

crochetProof that crocheting is not only for grandmas, and that it can produce more than those numerous doilies my great-grandma made, comes courtesy of Cthulhu Chick, who makes little Cthulhus, using crochet patterns.

She explains: “Last fall, I discovered the tiny crocheted Cthulhu pattern and it revived my interest in crocheting…Pretty soon, I had dozens of Cthulhus living in my apartment and had given some away to friends and sold others that people had commissioned. As of June 2010, there are over 40 little Cthulhus living with me. I love making Cthulhus and for now, I’m going to make Cthulhus. So I’ve decided to sell a bunch of them on Etsy!”

Cthulhu Chick’s website chronicles the fate of her creations, with pictures of her tiny friends. She can also make a custom Cthulhu for you. Cthulhu Chick has a Twitter account to keep you abreast of her crotcheting and Cthulhu activities, follow her @Cthulhu.

This is a really adorable way to adore the Old Ones. We love it.
