Bizarre news from the land of video gaming: Cthulhu has gone good and will now be our lord and saviour. Or something like that. Zeboyd Games have announced their upcoming downloadable RPG, Cthulhu Saves the World, for the XBox 360.
Why did Cthulhu have a change of heart? According to a press release: “Cthulhu was all set to plunge the world into insanity and destruction when a band of heroes cursed him and sealed away his powers. The only way for him to break the curse is to become a true hero. Save the world to destroy it!”
The game will feature classic 8/16-bit style for graphics and seven playable characters, including Umi, the “beautiful heroine with an unhealthy obsession with the ocean” (tentacle sex maybe?), and Sharpe, “the sentient floating sword” (wtf?), as well as Cthulhu, himself.
The game will be released on Xbox Live Indie Arcade for $3 this August. So, feel all retro and ready your tentacles.
