Found on the Net: Re-Animator Musical

By Silvia Moreno-Garcia

If the Phantom of the Opera‘s sequel Love Never Dies, or the Spider-Man musical, is not doing it for you, you’ve got a new wacky adaptation to look forward to: Re-Animator: The Musical.

Following in the footsteps of the Evil Dead musical, we’ve now got a Lovecraftian song-and-dance version of a horror movie, which will be playing this March at The Steve Allen Theater at The Center For Inquiry in Hollywood.

The theatre webpage says, “Gordon is back with his co-writers Dennis Paoli and William J. Norris and composer/lyricist Mark Nutter to turn Re-Animator into a musical for the stage…Special effects are being done by the same guys who did them for the 1985 movie: Tony Doublin, John Naulin and John Beuchler. And the blood will flow so freely that the first row will be designated as a ‘splash zone’.”

Are they going to keep the scene with the severed head? Only one way to find out! Tickets are $20 for general admission.
